M. Sc. in Cyber Security Program inaugurates at Daffodil International University

As a symbol of academic excellence and commitment to meet the evolving needs of the digital society, M.Sc. in Cyber Security under the Department of Software Engineering was inaugurated today on March 09, 2024 at Daffodil International University.

Mr. Abu Sayed Md. Kamruzzaman, ndc, Director General, National Cyber Security Agency, People's Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the program as the chief guest. Engr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, CTO, First Security Islamic Bank Limited, A.N.M. Shakawath Hossain, Director (IT Audit), ACNABIN Chartered Accountants, Engr. M. Golam Soroar, CEO at Byte Care Ltd, Md. Saiful Islam, Head of Information Security, ASA International were present as the special guests at the inauguration ceremony. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University delivered the address of welcome at the program. The function was also addressed among others by Professor Dr. Syed Akhtar Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSIT), Dr. Imran Mahmud, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Software Engineering, Md. Maruf Hassan, Associate Professor & Program Director of M. Sc. in Cyber of the university.

While addressing at the program speakers said, we are in an era where digital technologies have become central to our daily lives, the significance of cybersecurity cannds becoming a Smart Nation, the role of cybersecurity becomes even more crucial. As we embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the cybersecurity landscape is undergoing rapid changes. The increasing sophistication of cyber threats poses new challenges, highlighting a critical gap in skilled cybersecurity professionals. This gap is a global issue, affecting nations and industries across the world. In Bangladesh, we observe a pressing need for experts who can navigate the complexities of this digital domain, safeguarding our infrastructure and information against cyber threats.
